Food Trucks

foodtrucks2.21.jpegThe Institute for Justice, a civil liberties law firm out of Virginia, approves of Stacy Head's proposed food truck laws in an open letter to New Orleans City Council this week, reports Maria Clark. EXCEPT the group thinks there should be no cap on the number of permits allowed, that the entire CBD should be open for food truck competition, and that the 50 foot proximity restriction from restaurants is unconstitutional. The institute has also helped monks in Covington fight a state regulation that prohibited them from selling their handmade caskets. [CityBusiness, subscription required]
