It took six years of planning, but the 6,000 square foot, two level gourmet burger bar, Charcoal's, on Jackson and Magazine, is finally open today. Proprietors Blaine Prestenbach and Craig Walker also own Somethin' Else Cafe and Vieux Carre Seafood and Meat in the Quarter. The burger bar will have counter service downstairs and table-service and a full bar upstairs. There's a wrap around balcony and sinker-cypress tables made by Prestenbach. Burger options can border on the obscene if you want them too.. ie. bison, antelope, elk, etc. The general manager Bobby Margot is formerly of La Petite Grocery. Check out their Facebook page here.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
