Hi-Ho Lounge Gets New Owners, New Kitchen Plans

Popular bar/music venue on St. Claude, Hi-Ho Lounge, is now under new ownership and getting some renovations, reports Alex Woodward. The guys who brought The Maison to Frenchmen Street? Jeff Bromberger, Russ Greiner, and Brian Greiner? have already updated the stage lighting, the long-overdue soundboard, and hung new artwork. But don't get all scared the Hi Ho will morph into something else, Brian Greiner is quoted as saying, "We're not going to change too much. We're going to keep it Hi-Ho Lounge."

One big change, however: The vegan Korean joint operating out of the kitchen, Wandering Buddha, is now wandering toward a new, undisclosed location set to open in April. Hi Ho's new kitchen will likely serve grilled cheese, pressed sandwiches and late-night breakfast fare. No word on why the Stooges Brass Band, who took over management about a year ago (with hopes to buy it), are no longer involved.
