Two former employees of the just-shuttered Oak Street Cafe (8140 Oak) have purchased the business, and are reopening it as Live Oak Cafe. Clare Leavy and Helena Hjort will reopen on January 4, with a new menu (expect more of an emphasis on all things local and housemade) and French Truck Coffee on board. [NOLA.com]
