MID CITY— Robert Morris reports that a UNO business school grad's proposal to open a new daiquiri shop, Daiquiri Lounge, at 800 N. Broad Street has won initial approval from city officials despite some pretty serious opposition from neighboring businesses. Strangely enough, the building was actually used by the NOPD "as a front for a sting operation involving the sale of stolen goods" decades ago. [MidCityMessenger]
