Uptown restaurant Ivy highlights a week of big restaurant openings. There are also a lot of restaurants ready to open in the coming weeks and months and Todd A. Price of the Times-Pic has an update on a lot of them, but here now are the details on the restaurants that have just opened. [NOLA.com]

1.) UPTOWN: Ivy
Address: 5015 Magazine St.
The Situation: The Gautreau's team, including chef and Master cheftestapants Sue Zemanick and owners Patrick and Rebecca Singley, quietly opened this small plates restaurant/cocktail lounge in the former ivy-covered Vizard's space on Monday. The Times-Pic just kind of put an end to the whole quietly opening part.

2.) METAIRIE/MID CITY: Mizado Cocina
Address: 5080 Pontchartrain Blvd.
The Sitch: This is a new Latin American restaurant with Peruvian specialties from the folks behind Zea Rotisserie and Semolina. Now open at the corner of Metairie Road and I-10, Gary Darling, Hans Limburg and Greg Reggio conceived of the idea after years of traveling to South America. From their press release: Chef de Cuisine Eric Solar and General Manager Darin Smith will serve dinner six days a week, Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm until 10:00pm, and open until 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Valet parking is available, as well as self-parking on premise.[Eaterwire]

3.) LGD: Dolce Vita
Address: 1205 St. Charles Ave.
The Sitch: Todd A. Price reports that the Dolce Vita wood fired pizzeria is newly open on St. Charles. Owner Bogdan Mocanu made a name for himself with his popular Dolce Vita food truck in Baton Rouge: The Stephano Ferrara "wood-fired oven is in the center of the dining room, so that Mocanu can still work the room like a food truck operator greeting guests from a window." He makes Neopolitan style pizza, but with toppings that drift toward the cray, such as a "duck, peaches and a Jim Beam bourbon glaze" special. [NOLA.com]
