The New Orleans Arena will unveil some serious food upgrades tonight at the Pelican's season opener, including a renovation of the Capital One Club, and a concessions menu that the Arena's hospitality-partner Centerplate tapped John Besh to consult on. Todd A. Price reports that "new offerings include made-to-order tacos and burritos at NOLA Libre, charcuterie boards from Corks and Coffee and loaded waffle fries at the Backcourt Grill." Other highlights include Dixie BBQ, North Club South Club, NOLA Pizza, Geaux Mac, and the Sweet Shop.
NoDef's Alex Cline also reports that guests of the newly renovated Capital One Club (open to floor patrons only during the first three quarters of games) will serve a la carte items, including Abita Turbo Dog braised beef and pan-seared redfish with lump crabmeat, created by executive chef Lenny Martinsen. Also expect new design elements, menu boards, and renovated stands, all part of the Arena's months-long multi million dollar renovation.
