Chef shuffle shocker today, with Todd A. Price reporting that chef René Bajeux is departing his namesake restaurant René Bistrot in the Warehouse District's Renaissance Arts Hotel on November 2, and taking over as executive chef at the JW Marriott on Canal come November 10.
Bajeux opened the second-iteration of René Bistrot just last year in May 2012. The first René Bistrot was shuttered by Hurricane Katrina. There's no word on what will become of René Bistrot, or what Bajeux's plans are for the JW Marriot:
At this point, Bajeux doesn't know exactly how he'll revamp the JW Marriott's restaurant, currently called the Canal Street Grill. He will, however, incorporate flavors that he encountered while working outside Louisiana and the United States.
Know what's going on with either Rene Bistrot or the JW Marriot? Have another hot tip for us? Leave a comment, or send an email down the tipline. As always, Tips are very greatly appreciated.
