Rum House Owners Opening Red Dog Diner on Magazine

Robert Morris has the lowdown on a new expansion from Rum House owners, Michael Buchert and Kelly Ponder. The duo plan to open The Red Dog Diner (and already have CPC's thumbs up to have booze) next door to Rum House, in a former fro-yo space at 3122 Magazine.

Red Dog Diner will feature Rum House chef Terri Savoie and her menu of 'a healthier, revamped, gourmet comfort food' paired with a 'boutique style wine list,' all according to Buchert. Expect a 'rustic, French country barn look' (neigh?) and an opening around February 2014. Meanwhile, a second location of Rum House will be landing in Baton Rouge by the end of the 2013.

Morris also reports that Uptown restaurant Baie Rouge(4128 Magazine) has just received the CPC's approval to have boozy booze as well, and their request (along with Red Dog Diner's) will now head to City Council for final booze approval.
