Uptown Polka Dot Madness; Mansions For Sale; More!

UPTOWN— Who knew a polka dot-painted street would stir up such strong feelings? A tipster passed along some pics and thanks to Curbed readers, we learned this is Ecole School's way of creating a "traffic calming" situation in a school zone.

CITY-WIDE— Props to local design firm GOATstudio on winning the "Designing Recovery" competition with their Shotgun [remix] house plans.

UPTOWN— Anne Rice split town a few years ago and sold off all of her property. But this 9,545-square foot St. Charles Avenue property is back on the market for $2.65M.

MID-CITY— In what could be the start of a Tulane Avenue clean-up, the Mid-Town Hotel just sold for $1.7M and the new owners plan on starting a franchise agreement with a national hotel brand. After they clean it up, of course.

LOWER GARDEN DISTRICT— This stunning Coliseum Square home from 1857 in on the market for $1.595M and a tipster threw in some neighborhood gossip. Check it out here.
