Laura McKnight reports that Mid City Yacht Club is "undergoing a sea change" with their total menu overhaul (not to mention their new indoor non-smoking policy, courtyard expansion with a "boathouse" annex). Chef Lurie Luciano's new menu of classic American bar food? with emphasis on housemade "everything"? includes healthier options like an organic greens salad and chargrilled veggies, but the Holy Crab Balls and Crawcheese Fries have won the popularity contest with the regulars. As for the cocktails, McKnight reports that MCYC has "an array of infused vodkas, and an evolving craft cocktail menu" on top of their decent beer selection. Check out the full food menu right here.
As for the great outdoors Owner Ben Markey tells McKnight that the courtyard expansion basically came about by "transforming blighted property next to the bar." If you haven't been by to see the courtyard and annex yet (they made Eater's list of 10 new places to eat/drink outside this Fall), MCYC will be hosting a Halloween Party on October 25.
