Last night St. James Cheese Company's third annual Cocktails & Curds competition went down at Rosy's Jazz Hall. The sold-out event, created by St. James owners Richard and Danielle Sutton and sponsored by Beam and Keife & Co., featured eight of New Orleans' finest bartenders pairing specialty drinks with artisan cheeses for a chance to win $1,000 in cold hard cash.
Cheftestapants Justin Devillier and Sue Zemanick joined Patois chef Aaron Burgau, Cure Co. founder Neal Bodenheimer, Rene Louapre and Becker Hall from Hogs for Cause, and Jim Yonkus of Keife & Co. to judge the best pairing. Chris Arenas of Ste. Marie took the win, followed by Matt Young from Cane & Table and Tony DiMunno from Maurepas Foods.
