After a little bit of a chef shuffle a month ago that saw Domenica and Delmonico alum Jason Sanders take on a big kitchen/management role at Mahony's, the famed po-boy shop will be undergoing a major, week-long kitchen overhaul starting Saturday, Oct. 12. Todd A. Price reports that the po-boy shop will remain closed through the duration of the renovations, and is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The renovations are the next phase in Mahony's plan to reinvigorate itself by applying a more studied "chef's approach" to the po-boy. That's where Sanders, a fine-dining vet, came in, taking the reins of day-to-day kitchen operations away from Mahony's founder/chef Ben Wicks.
