Something is rotten in the state of Doyle International... City Business reports that Jason Doyle's latest Huey's 24/7 Diner in the Wyndham Garden Hotel "apparently opened within the last 10 days" even though Star Hospitality Group, which owns the hotel, filed a January 15 petition for their eviction. Just how the hell do you open a restaurant when you are being evicted?
Star Hospitality claims it has received no rent payments or proof of insurance, and that the diner's owner, HSD 201 Baronne LLC, is not a legal entity. Lease terms required the restaurant to open before the end of 2012, and the petition claims this had not occurred as of the filing.
HSD 201 Baronne LLC was started by Jason Doyle and his New Orleans-based Doyle International on January 11. No word from the Doyle group on what the helk is going on at this time. The Wyndham Garden location was the fifth Huey's to open (and potentially shut down) within a year, surrounded by fish business, like the mysterious shuttering of the Jax location and the fire and mysterious shuttering of the Vets location.
