Vizard's Shuttered After Four Years on Magazine Street

New, 2 comments

Vizards.pngVizard's, the intimate, vine-covered restaurant Uptown, run by longtime New Orleans Chef, Kevin Vizard, is no longer open after four years of business. A phone call to the restaurant went unanswered, but a long-winded voicemail states that Vizard's is no longer operating as of Hurricane Isaac. The space will remain open as a yet-to-be-named restaurant.

Vizard's was apparently already on "thin ice," a tipster reports, with the small dining room and seats at the bar going unfilled. The tipster also says that Kevin Vizard didn't have insurance, as he doesn't own the building, which sustained some damage in Isaac. The move from his previous venture, Vizard's on the Avenue, came as a result of a nonbinding lease with the Garden District Hotel.

If you know anything else about Vizard's shuttering please leave a comment or send a tip to nola@eater.com.
