Opening Updates on Pizza Delicious, Booty's and More

Fall is the best time to be a diner in New Orleans. Eater is keeping track of the hottest openings this fall, and here are some updates.

1.) Bywater: Check out the teaser pic of the new Pizza Delicious to the right. Owner Mike Friedman tells Eater, "We're getting really excited about opening and are busting our asses everyday, but it's coming together." [EaterWire, Facebook]

2.) CBD: After a commenter noticed a severe lack of construction happening at Lucky Rooster, the crew's wine-brainiac Joe Briand tweeted that the crew of the new Pan-Asian restaurant is in fact working hard to open this year. [Twitter]

3.) Bywater: Nick Vivion of Booty's on his partner Kevin Farrell : "I'm really the only Seattle transplant, and he's the one who's come home. We got a lot of flak for not being from around here, and Kevin really went through a lot in Katrina." Nick also recently named their chef: Greg Fonseca, formerly of Rio Mar. [EaterWire]

4.) Central City: Things seem to be looking good for Maïs Arepas, not that you can see inside the restaurant. Red paper is covering all the windows, but their giant logo is up, as is a sign stating they're in the process of getting an alcohol permit. [EaterWire]

5.) Bywater: Co-owner Kevin Fruits describes Prime Grille's lunch service as similar to a pop-up in the midst of their fine dining dinner service. Says Fruits: "We wanted our lunch to be really casual. We want this to feel like a place that's been here for a long time." [EaterWire]

6.) Mid-City: An Eater commenter says we really missed one on the Fall Preview list, "Gracious Bakery and Cafe in the Woodward Design building on S Jeff Davis Parkway." Run by pastry chef, Megan Roen Forman, and her husband (and local food writer) Jay Forman, they serve lunch, pastries, desserts, and coffee. They're located at 1000. S. Jefferson Davis Parkway.
