The Huey's 24/7 Diner in Jax Brewery closed quite suddenly recently after cutting back its overnight hours and closing two days out of the week in July. A tipster tells Eater that Huey's staff and management were given about 15 minutes notice before owner Jason Doyle reportedly asked them to vacate the building on the double and subsequently changed the diner's locks.
The Jax Brewery location was Doyle's third go of it in the area (there was a Huey's 24/7 in Midtown Manhattan that had been open for six months before closing in February). A location in the Hammond Square Mall lasted from November to May, and a Huey's 24/7 opened in Metairie just last month. If anyone has any more info about Huey's ongoing New Orleans saga, don't hesitate to share it with us because we're all friends here and friends share things with each other.
