Change isn't always a bad thing. Even though L'il Dizzy's owner Wayne Baquet told the Times-Pic that he will be closing his location at 610 Poydras Street inside the Wyndham Hotel on Aug. 15, the L'il Dizzy's at 1500 Esplanade will pick up the slack by serving dinner three nights a week. Although the Esplanade spot is doing well, Baquet called the CBD spot "a wash." At 65, he says he's not trying to work too hard, and considering that his oldest daughter Kelly just had a baby and can no longer manage the Poydras location, Baquet decided now was as good a time as any to focus his energy on the Esplanade restaurant, which will soon offer dinner from 4-8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday.
