See those neon lights up there? Adorning the windows of the newly-opened burger joint Juicy D's, those lights are apparently not exactly legal. Karen Gadbois of The Lens reports that under city rules, each rectangle of neon technically counts as a sign, which were not approved by the City Planning Commission or the Historic Districts Landmark Commission. (Juicy D's is in an historic Whitney Bank building designed by Emile Weil.) A rep for Mayor Mitch Landrieu tells Gabois that they will be citing Juicy D's for the illegal signage.
