EATER TRACKING?In his weekly tidbit-filled blog post, New Orleans Magazine food guy Robert Peyton notes that Purloo, the restaurant at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum by abruptly-let-go Johnny V's chef Ryan Hughes, could open by February 2013. [Haute Plates]

FIRST WORD?The Times-Pic's Susan Langenhennig files on two new Northshore restaurants. Pardos is a bistro by former Emeril's Delmonico GM Osman Rodas, while Peck's, a neighborhood seafood counter owned by Michelle and Matt Pecoraro, just opened a second location. Both are locally-owned restaurants in a sea of big box stores and chain eateries. [NOLA.com]

EVENT PLANNING?The Warehouse District destination Root is hosting two beer dinners August 13 and 27, with beer pairings coordinated by Nora McGunnigle, aka NOLA Beer Bitch. More details to come. [NOLA Beer Bitch]
