Smoothie King Does the Opposite of Going Local

A major windfall for Steve and Cindy Kuhnau, the Jefferson Parish couple who have owned Smoothie King since 1973. They recently sold the "privately held New Orleans based Franchise Company" to the Korean company that franchises the chain in that country. How does this affect smoothie drinkers in the metro area that spawned the multinational chain? Probably not at all:

But local fans of large fruity drinks that don't happen to contain alcohol need not worry: there will still be growth at home. While filling a routine Brocato's craving, NoDef spotted a sign advertising that a new Smoothie King is coming soon next to K'Jean's Seafood near the corner of N. Carrollton Ave. and Bienville St.
Steve Kuhnau will continue with the company as a "a consultant and brand ambassador."
