Sean McCusker comes from the land where pizza slices are a form of cheesy, oversized currency?New York. Where, then, does the Sylvain co-owner get his pizza fix in New Orleans? Though he says that it's hard to duplicate the New York slice, he points to Ancora and Crescent City Pie & Sausage as two places that seem to "get it." The challenge is getting to either spot during normal business hours. "Most of the pizza I get down here," he says, "I grab at two, three, four in the morning after work, with friends and a few beers." His go-to late-night stop is Vieux Carré for pizza that, though he admits is a little too thick for his taste, comes with an unbeatable attraction: "There's a guy who works the register there who looks just like Thome Yorke from Radiohead, only?and he'll probably kick my ass for saying this?if Thome Yorke had a few too many pizzas." He considers this for a moment and qualifies his assessment by saying, "Then again, I think Thome Yorke is a vegan, so maybe the guy at Vieux Carre is totally normal and Thome Yorke is just too thin."
