Casamento's to Close for the Summer on May 19

The old trope is that one should never eat oysters in a month that doesn't have an "R" in it. May, June, July, August: these months are just terrible for eating oysters, because "Summer oysters are too busy with sex to be able to restock that fat." That's why the annual ritual is for oyster houses like Casamento's to close through the summer months.

To that end, here's some bad news. Oyster lovers only have about 2 weeks left to enjoy them at the famed Magazine Street oyster house. According to its website and confirmed by Eater, Casamento's is closing for the summer on May 19. As of now, they plan to reopen on September 11.
