Uptown Nacho Mama's is Nacho Spot for Queso Anymore

Well harrumph: NOLA Defender's Mary-Devon Dupuy is reporting that the Magazine Street location of Nacho Mama's closed earlier this week, which surely is terrible news "for Uptowners that love to go out for margs and queso, as well as those of us who love a good pun." In a message reposted by NoDef, the restaurant's owners said,

This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us and we hope that you understand. We will be concentrating our efforts on our other location in Elmwood and we hope that you can visit us there. Maybe one day, we will be reinvigorated and ready to find a new location in the Uptown area. Until then, happy eating and long live the margarita!!!

Gotta wonder if rent on that stretch of Magazine Street?sandwiched betwixt the Bulldog, Salu and Reginelli's?just got to be too expensive. No word yet on what will replace Nacho Mama's at that space.
