Brunch: possibly the most New Orleanian of meals, combining day drinking with good eating. It's a thing this city does as well as (if not better than) anywhere else, which is why this is awesome news. Apolline, the restaurant led by chef Matt Farmer in the former Dominique's on Magazine space, will start serving brunch next weekend. GM Jenny Smith hinted at this at the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience Grand Tasting on Saturday, with the news confirmed this afternoon.
Farmer's brunch menu will have his take on regular brunch fare, including Eggs Apolline (eggs, andouille and Hollandaise on a Belgian waffle) and Fried Chicken and French Toast (a take on chicken and waffles). Perhaps even more important is the news that mimosas will be $2, Bloody Marys $3.
