Filipino Pop Up Returns at Marie's Bar in the Marigny

Cristina Quackenbush's Filipino pop up, A Taste of the Philippines, is returning, this time with a steady gig downtown. Quackenbush, somehow not over-extended between her gigs bartending at High Hat Café and serving at Rio Mar, has run her pop up twice so far. Capitalizing off of her professional connection with chef/empire builder Adolfo Garcia, A Taste of the Philippines appeared at Rio Mar in January, proving too popular for that space and reappearing at A Mano in March. Now, starting May 13 and going on for the foreseeable future, Quackenbush will be serving up Filipino fare at Marie's Bar in the Marigny. Her pop up will be open from noon to 2 a.m., with some delivery available.

Back in March, Quackenbush said that she was looking to open a brick-and-mortar, to be called Milkfish. This more regular gig appears to be a step in that direction.
