Nothing to do tonight? Dust off that seersucker ensemble from the closet and hit Sippin' in Seersucker, between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Shops at Canal Place. On top of outfits being mercilessly judged by two-time ensemble winner Tony Lamanna and a burlesque performance by Trixie Minx, there will be food and booze by a host of restaurants including Baru, Mahoney's and the Delachaise, for a $50 admission fee.
Of course, for anyone who's already super cultured and has a membership to the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the admission fee is only $30, and it would have been $25 if you weren't such a procrastinator and didn't wait until the day of the event to buy a ticket. Sheesh. All proceeds go to the Ogden, so if you attend, you can justifiably tell people that you're a patron of the arts while you get trashed in fancy summer wear.
