These Might be the Dreamiest Weenies Around

Uptown has Dat Dog, but now the downtown folks are about to get their own gourmet hot dog shop. Dreamy Weenies is coming to a pretty beautiful Quarter building at 740 Rampart St.. That's just across the street from Louis Armstrong Park and not too far away from Bar Tonique.

According to Dreamy Weenies' Facebook page, they're going to carry a selection of turkey, beef and vegan dogs. They'll even have kosher and halal dogs. Behind the project are Ahmad Shakir, a fourth grade math teacher, and Nasr Nance. Nance tells Eater that "the number one thing is being able to meet any dietary restrictions," hence the kosher, halal and vegan options.

If all goes according to plan, Dreamy Weenies should be open by mid-June.
