The International Association of Culinary Professionals held their annual awards last night in New York. Per Eater National, the IACP awards honor "the best in food writing, photography, design, and journalism over the last year."
While several New Orleanians were nominated for IACP awards, only one was named a winner. Empire builder and over-exuberant TV host John Besh's My Family Table won in the cookbook category for Children, Youth and Family. His book was also nominated in the General Cookbook category, though it lost in that category to Molly Stevens' All About Roasting.
The big award, Cookbook of the Year, went to Christine Manfield's Tasting India, while Nathan Myhrvold's misleadingly named "megacookbook" Modernist Cuisine took the Design Award and Professional Kitchens category.
