NOPD Confirms Gabrielle's Permits are Totally Legal

Someone's got it out for Gabrielle, the restaurant by Greg and Mary Sonnier that only recently reopened after years of wrangling with the neighborhood. Even now that it's open, Gabrielle is technically a reception hall, meaning diners have to "rent" their space, even if it's just for a two-top.

Then, this past Saturday at 8 p.m., in the middle of the dinner rush, the NOPD rolled in to inspect their operating permits. (Shades of what happened at Bacchanal, anyone?) But of course their permits are fine, with the NOPD commenting "that it must be the competition complaining." Haters need to leave Gabrielle alone and let the Sonniers do their thing, which is totally legal.
