Alpine Bistro on Chartres Street Shutters

Yet another tourist-trap restaurant bites the dust. A tipster takes to the Facebook to note that The Alpine has shuttered. The Chartres Street spot's website says that it's "moved to Sammy's on Bourbon," so, well, there's that.

Perhaps more interesting than the actual shutter is the space, across the street from Sylvain. With all likelihood, another restaurant will be moving in there, but whatever takes over the space can go one of two ways. Either another shitty tourist trap restaurant, or something more worthwhile like Sylvain or Sobou, the latter of which is coming in June just a few blocks down Chartres. This is one to watch.
