Bottled diabetes peddler Coca-Cola has decided to donate $10,000 to the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy, hoping that a little extra scratch will further help smooth over the city's anger over Coke's sidewalk chalk advertising campaign.
The company had previously considered making two $5,000 donations to the French Quarter Business Association and the Downtown Development District respectively, but says that it wanted its money to have a "broader" impact on the city, an impact commensurate, say, with a widespread advertising campaign apparently dreamed up by a crack team of college interns.
