There's already a new project that's going to take over the old Bywater Barbecue space, which shuttered last month. Called Prime, it's the newest venture from Matt Cummings and Kevin Fruits, two Midwesterners who own the Decadence Shoppe in the Quarter. According to the Times-Pic, Prime will serve pub fare type stuff during the day and steaks and seafood for dinner.
Will Prime keep Bywater Barbecue's kind of endearing green color scheme and nice, tropical patio? Hopefully, though the guys do plan to "overhaul" the look.
The Times-Pic also reports that Cummings and Fruits are opening another spot this spring, called Comforts, in the former Donna's space right by the Decadence Shoppe.
