Sunday Barbecue Pop Up Coming to Avenue Pub

Rob and Emily Bechtold are the couple behind the recently shuttered Metairie barbecue joint Smokin' Buddha BBQieux, who since that shutter kept on trucking (lit'rally!) with a delivery operation called NOLA Smokehouse. Now, the Bechtolds are bringing a barbecue pop up to Avenue Pub on Sundays.

Every Sunday (except for May 6, when they'll be doing a cooking demo at Jazz Fest), the Bechtolds will be serving up half-pound and pound portions of pulled pork, brisket, ribs and burnt ends, along with sides by the pint and quart. Rob Bechtold says that they continue to search uptown for a brick-and-mortar, and hope that the regular gig at Avenue Pub help them grow to the point of being able to open up for real.
