The Times-Pic's fashion editor Susan Langenhennig reports this afternoon that Sweet Olive is closing. The restaurant opened up inside the newly-remodeled Saint Hotel in late February, and in the few months it's been open, reactions have generally been positive. Owner Michael Stoltzfus, who also owns Coquette, is due to win a "Rising Star" award for the restaurant at next Thursday's StarChefs.com gala. All of which is to say, holy shit this is a surprise.

To quote Langenhennig: "Details are still trickling in, but a staff member at the restaurant confirmed that the its last dinner service would be Sunday."

Update: The restaurant is closing, but only temporarily. While Stoltzfus and his team are indeed leaving, the Saint Hotel is taking over management of the restaurant, and the Sweet Olive name is staying with the hotel.
