Tipsters write in with news of two different shutters, both of which happened very quietly at neighborhood restaurants in the Bywater and the Warehouse District. Down in the Upper Ninth Ward, tipster Eric has noticed that Bywater BBQ has closed. Its full name was Bywater Restaurant Deli & BBQ, though there was never a smoker in sight, so it's hard to say it was "true BBQ." That said, it generally seemed to be regarded as a fine neighborhood restaurant; the reason for the shutter is unknown.

On the other side of town, in the Warehouse District, tipster Bruce noticed that Deanie's Restaurant is now closed. The breakfast-and-lunch spot on Annunciation is totally unrelated to the Deanie's Seafood based in Bucktown. The exact date of the shutter isn't known, though the last Yelp review comes from late February, so it was at least open through Mardi Gras.
