In their regular contribution to the blogosphere (aka that place where they post their menus every week) downtown pizza pop up Pizza Delicious posted more information on their upcoming move to a brick-and-mortar. They've officially signed the lease on the new space at 617 Piety, writing, "We really wanted to stay in Bywater and it was really important to find a spot in the neighborhood that fit what we wanted to do." While they have to build out the restaurant from scratch, they hope to be open by late summer. They promise to "be serving pizza at our current location as late as we possibly can into the moving process."
Whereas many restaurants pursue investors and business partners and the like, Pizza Delicious is a more ragtag, neighborhood-oriented operation, so they're essentially crowdsourcing funding. In addition to a kickstarter to raise money for the pizza oven (coming "in the next couple of weeks"), they're also holding an event called Pizzanity at the St Claude Avenue music venue Siberia. There's more info on that as well: seven different music acts including chanteuse Meschiya Lake, and tickets are on a "sliding scale" of $10 to $15.
