MENU CHANGES? The bar inside the W Hotel, Whiskey Blue, is getting in the seasonal spirit with a couple of springtime additions to its cocktail menu. In addition to the regular menu, they're offering a number of seasonal drinks with warm and fuzzy names like the French Lace and the Strawberry Smash. [EaterWire]
GOOD VS. FAMOUS? On their march through the city's dining institutions, guided by the question "Is it worth it?" the guys at Blackened Out look at Carrollton Avenue gelateria Angelo Brocato's. Calling it "the quintessential Italian ice cream parlor," they say yes, it is "most definitely" worth it. Try the spumoni or the strawberry gelato. Or pretty much anything else. [Blackened Out]
EATER TRACKING? Officials broke ground today on the $38 million Mid City Market, at the former Bohn Ford location on Carrollton Avenue. The Market (aka strip mall) will include a Winn Dixie, Pinkberry, Five Guys and a Pei Wei Asian diner. [TP]
