A little pop up love for the people living over in "New Orleans' Best Kept Secret," Algiers Point: the pop up PPX Dinner Club, whose principal Matthew Kopfler is fresh off a culinary tour of the Northeast, is hosting a dinner tomorrow night at Mount Olivet Episcopal Church in the Pernt. The dinner is part cooking class with classically trained chef Kopfler, part Lenten dinner and part fundraiser for the historic church.
The pop up is also doing a pair of other special events in the next week: A vegan dinner at Swan River Yoga on Friday and a five course dinner that they're hosting with uptown vinegar- and oil-shop Vom Fass. Tickets for that one are available here.
PPX got its start with Wednesday dinner pop ups in the patio of F&M's uptown. We asked the other PPX principal, Tess Monaghan, what was up with that engagement, and apparently it's on hold because of the "many other interesting opportunities" that have come up. She added: "Flexibility is the most beautiful thing about a pop up restaurant. We like new adventures, cooking in new places." [EaterWire]
