Nanny States

TulaneQL.jpgA researcher at Tulane University thinks she's figured out how to get people to eat less. In a study published by Health Affairs, a scholarly journal, Dr Janet Schwartz found that "a third of the people" who ordered from an on-campus Chinese restaurant during the study said they'd be willing to take a smaller portion when offered, without any discount. That made the experiment more effective than other cities' laws requiring that restaurants label items with their calorie count. [WWL]
