Diana Chauvin, chef and co-owner of uptown's La Thai, is going to be competing on the Food Network's cooking competition show Chopped. The chef and (spoiler alert!) hottest chef nominee will be in New York to film her episode on April 6, though its air date is obviously TBD. According to her quote in the press release, Chauvin will be rocking the "Thai/New Orleans fusion cuisine," which sounds pretty awesome.

The winner of each episode of Chopped?which pits four chefs against each other in 3 elimination rounds?gets $10,000. Chauvin has said that if she wins, half of that money would go to her mom, while she would split the remainder into two $2,500 donations to the Brees Dream Foundation and the Edible Schoolyard New Orleans. Here's to hoping she does New Orleans proud. [EaterWire]

Update: Chauvin isn't the only one. David Bridges from the Upperline and Chuck Subra from La Cote Brasserie are reportedly also filming episodes.
