Watch Duke LoCicero Talk About Duke's on the Basin

New, 2 comments

Chef Duke LoCicero was on WWL-TV this past Saturday to talk about his plans for Duke's on the Basin Seafood Camp, his new old-school seafood restaurant in the old New Basin Canal area. The Cafés Giovanni chef's restaurant is the first new construction in this section of the Lakefront since Katrina. When the project was announced last October, it was due to open by May of this year, but in the video LoCicero says that they will be open by July 4.

LoCicero talks about the revitalization of "the Lakefront and Lakeshore Drive," something with which this massive construction could certainly help. They're going to have an "open seafood market" underneath the restaurant three days a week, emphasizing "all local stuff." The restaurant's decor will be "camping chic." They'll also have dockside access where boaters can pull up, gas up and eat up. Basically, it sounds like it's going to be super Louisianian, in a good way.
