Earlier this month, Diana Chauvin, chef/co-owner at La Thai Uptown, announced via a press release that she would be competing on the upcoming season of Chopped. After Eater and NOLA.com posted short stories on this, Dave Bridges from the Upperline told Brett Anderson that he was as well.
Well, apparently in the press release the Food Network makes their competing chefs sign, you're not really supposed to talk about your upcoming appearance. As a result, Brett Anderson now reports that both Chauvin and Bridges have been cut from the show before even going to New York to film their episodes. Winning chefs from an episode of Chopped receive $10,000 in prize money. Bridges never said how he would use his earnings if he were to win, but in Chauvin's case getting axed is particularly unfortunate as she had pledged to split it between her mother, the Brees Dream Foundation and the Edible Schoolyard.
