This year will see the third iteration of My Darlin' New Orleans, the annual fundraiser hosted by the cast and crew of HBO's Treme. Benefiting a trio of non-profits?the Roots of Music, Sweet Home New Orleans and the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic and Assistance Foundation?the shindig includes an auction for items like Jazz Fest passes and a role as an extra on the show, and something they're calling a "Celebrity Gala." Irma Thomas is headlining, and there will be other performances by John Boutte (whose Treme Song is the show's theme) and the Roots of Music Crusaders.
But what about the food? Tory McPhail of Commander's Palace, Susan Spicer of Bayona and Alon Shaya of Domenica will be the guest chefs. Spicer and Shaya have both made cameos on the show, and Spicer has served as a consultant for the food-tacular storyline involving fictional chef Janette Desautel. McPhail, meanwhile, hasn't had much of a connection with the show, but Commander's Palace was featured in two episodes in Season 2.
Tickets are available here. The early bird price is $125; the limited number of late bird tickets cost $150 apiece.
