On Monday, it was announced that chef Dean Dupuis is leaving his post at Oakland's Southern-inspired fine dining spot Picaán. Picán's owner, New Orleans native Michael Leblanc, is about to hop on a plane to scour the South for his replacement. Eater SF reported that he's heading to Savannah and Charleston, though it's looking like he's also coming to New Orleans. This means there's a decent chance one of our own might get tapped to helm this Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning kitchen in the Bay Area.
Our sources say he'll be coming down some time in March, after Picán's Black History Month events and after Mardi Gras. So chefs, be on top of your game?never know when you're being scouted. [EaterWire]
