The culinary school at Nicholls State University, named after local food guy John Folse, will honor fellow local food guy Frank Brigtsen with this year's Lafcadio Hearn Award. Brigtsen, who owns Brigtsen's Restaurant uptown and Charlie's Seafood in Harahan in addition to teaching at the culinary program at NOCCA, will receive the award at a dinner at Nicholls on March 5.
