UPTOWN—It's getting to be that time of year when you have to decide whether to RSVP to the New Orleans JCC's rockin' Hanukkah dinner and concert, or forgo an indoor picnic featuring latkes and fried chicken. The JCC will open its doors on Dec. 10 for a dinner at 5:30 pm, followed closely by a concert featuring singer Rick Recht and his trio of troubadours. [Times-Pic]
HARVEY?Speaking of holiday cheer, hegemonic chef and restaurateur John Besh will host "Besh, Hope and Holidays," a benefit for the John Besh Foundation and Cafe Hope, at the Royal Palm in Harvey on Dec. 20, from 8-11 pm. Tickets are $150 per person ($250 for patron tickets), and the event will feature chefs from every corner of the Besh restaurant dominion. Proceeds will go to at-risk youth in Marrero. [Times-Pic]
