Yesterday, Mike Friedman, Greg Augarten and the Pizza Delicious crew were hard at work on their opening day. "I've never run food before," Friedman told Eater, with a sort of terrified but proud look as he balanced three plates of pizza slices (without dropping them). The new Piety Street location? between Markey Park and Chartres? has a menu that is nearly identical to its former pop-up self with awesome daily special pizzas, those famous garlic knots, and more. Taps are in place for beer, but they don't look to be flowing yet, so hold your dang horses. The restaurant has an open kitchen, and gets so much light from the big windows in the dining area, the whole place seems to glow, which is surely a sign sent from the pizza heavens.
