Wine Smoothies, Fests Galore & Cheery Satsuma Maple

FRENCH QUARTER? Bartender Chapman Sowash of new Bourbon Street addition, Tropical Wine Smoothies, on his drinks appeal and potency: "It's our take on the frozen daiquiri. We do equally well with locals and tourists. W have a lot of repeat sales... We thought we'd offer something different by going with Louisiana fruit wines. A little gets you happy, but not as bombed as a frozen hurricane." [NoDef]

QUARTER/CBD? There are a ton of festivals going on this weekend. Both the Lousiana Seafood Fest at Woldenberg Park, and Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest at Lafayette Square are throwing down, so put on some good walking shoes and your tweety bird mini backpack because it's time to partay. [Nola.com]

UPTOWN? Kim Ranjbar has a nice write-up of Satsuma Maple this week (with glorious food porn). She says, "The owners took full advantage of the high-ceilings and large floor space, creating a bright, cheery atmosphere, complete with an open kitchen in the back." Not to mention, awesome food.
