MVBurger was a short-lived burger pop up that operated on Sunday nights out of the Slim Goody's kitchen. Ending operations last May, it was the one-night-a-week lovechild of a number of prominent local food people that included bloggers?namely, Peter Thriffiley, Jr and Rene Louapre from Blackened Out?and industry folks like Joel Dondis, partner in Sucre, La Petite Grocery and elsewhere. As Brett Anderson notes in the Times-Pic, one of the principles in the pop up was Hardie McDonald, chef at Liberty's Kitchen. Even better:
MVBurger ceased operations last May. But starting Thursday, February 2, the same hamburger will become available on the menu at Liberty's Kitchen, a socially conscious restaurant that teaches at-risk youth food industry skills. So the pop up isn't back, but the burger that made the pop up so noteworthy is. To which MVB's Twitter account said, "I'm baaaaaaaaacccccccccckkkkkkkk baby and I'm better than ever!"
